The Ethos Difference
What makes Ethos Different?
Expert Teachers
Each ensemble is led by a conductor with at least a Master’s Degree in Music with an established record of musical and pedagogical excellence. Dr. Brian Russell, conductor of the Ethos Philharmonic and Ethos Wind Symphony, holds his degrees in conducting from the Eastman School of Music and brings experience teaching and conducting at the secondary, university, and professional level.

Dedication to the Process
Ethos believes in the value of the school-based ensemble and seeks to supplement a student’s education by connecting him/her with other highly-motivated students from across Middle Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and Northern Alabama.

Academy Instruction
Academy students receive weekly instruction from experts on your instrument in a group setting. We strive to keep a balance between building skills and technique (proper bow hold, posture, scales, etc) and learning songs for students to show off their skills. In his/her first year in the Ethos Academy, each student will perform at our December and April concerts alongside all the Ethos orchestras!
And after two years in the Ethos Academy, students are ready to audition for the Ethos Camerata Orchestra!
